Suzuki uncovers refreshed 2022 MotoGP paint scheme – Motorsport Week

Suzuki has become the fourth MotoGP manufacturer to unveil the livery that will adorn the latest evolution of its GSX-RR for 2022 piloted by Alex Rins and Joan Mir.

Shown off in an online presentation just a day before the opening pre-season test of the year gets underway at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, the Hamamatsu-based brand revealed a tweaked 2022 scheme that adds a splash of black on the nose of the GSX -RR to its traditional light blue and silver scheme.

Champion of 2020 Mir is looking to try and reclaim the crown he lost to Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo last year with a raft of upgrades brought by Suzuki for this year, including engine refinements as well as developments to its chassis and ride height device to try and provide more of a title tilt relative to last season.

Rins meanwhile will be looking for a significantly more fruitful campaign after managing just a sole rostrum at Silverstone throughout 2021, resulting in a lowly 13th in the rider’s championship compared to Mir’s decent run to third overall.

Suzuki looks to return to the winner’s circle having failed to win a race all season for the first time since 2018, making them one of only two manufacturers- alongside Aprilia -that failed to reach the top step of the rostrum in 2021, leaving them a distant fourth in the teams table it won just 12 months ago.
